Where are we?
We may be found at Kings Manor Farm in the beautiful River Yar valley which is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Freshwater Bay close to the western end of the island. The site is surrounded by fantastic countryside and convenient for several beaches and tourist attractions including amongst others The Needles, the River Yar leading to the ancient town of Yarmouth with its picturesque harbour and castle built by Henry VIII, Dimbola Lodge Photography Museum and Farringford, formerly home to Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
The site is located on farmland surrounded by native hedgerows with beautiful downland and river views. It is accessed from a private drive and is far from the main road offering a totally tranquil setting yet it is easily accessible by car and there are bus stops within a short walk. It is situated on the Freshwater Way, a footpath linking Yarmouth and Freshwater, and the award winning Red Lion pub are close by.
Birds and wildlife abound and the adjacent fields are used to graze, sheep, horses and donkeys.
The yurts are set well apart for privacy, each with its own outdoor seating area, generally at least 20 ft from its neighbour. We only have 7 guest units on site and no amplified music is allowed as we encourage a restful, relaxing atmosphere and the pace of life is slow.
We have ample adjacent parking for those who need to bring their cars. This is an ideal base from which to explore as much of the island as you wish or to just enjoy the delights of the immediate area.
