The Isle of Wight has some of the best beaches in Britain
The Isle of Wight currently has 14 Blue Flag award winning beaches, all of which are managed and maintained to the highest standard. In order for the Isle of Wight to gain these awards the beaches have to meet strict criteria as laid down by EnCams. For example the water quality must meet the standards of the Bathing Water Directive. For up to date results and water quality history click here.
Isle of Wight beaches and esplanades are inspected daily to ensure that they are clean and safe for visitors. When visiting any beaches please follow the guidelines to help the Isle of Wight Council to maintain this standard.
The nearest beaches to us are Freshwater Bay, Compton (famous for surfing), Colwell Bay and Totland Bay. All are within a 10 minute drive.
